Scrap Card #3-4

Here's Scrap Card #3:

I created this card from a paper pack I got at Big Lots probably 3 years ago.  I never use grays, so I really had to push myself to complete this card.  I used the Edward stamp by The Greeting Farm.  I colored him up with my Copics.  I ordered some gray and blue markers, but they haven't come in yet.  So I had to use my old Zig markers to color in his shirt and pants.  I can't believe I used to color with those Zig markers.  I am and will forever be a "Copic snob!"  Haha. :)  I punched out the stars with an old EK Success punch I have never used.  I sprayed the stars and the guitar with LSG Scintillating Silver Glitz Spritz and Screamin' Banshee Black Starburst Stain.  I typed up the sentiment using my Dymo label maker.

Scrap Card #4:

This card was created with scraps from the Graphic 45 On the Boardwalk Collection.  For the base of the card, I just used some black and tan scraps I had leftover.  The sentiment is a Studio G stamp I got for $1 at Michaels or JoAnn's, can't remember which.  I sprayed the sentiment with LSG Opal Sea Oats Starburst Stain, which matches this paper collection perfectly!  The cute swimsuit lady is from the paper collection.  I got the black lace trim from Frog Feathers on Etsy, the bling is by Recollections, and I can't remember where I got the satin rosettes.

Scrap Card #2

Here's Scrap Card #2:

I created this card for my Grandma for her birthday.  I used Melissa Frances Kitschy Kitchen collection.  These papers are so cute and are a perfect fit for Sugar n' Spice Marci by La-La Land Crafts.  I colored her up with my Copics and then added one of my absolute favorite flowers by Prima (which I can sadly no longer buy anywhere).  I created the recipe card by using kraft cardstock and printed out a recipe card I typed up on tan cardstock.  The birthday sentiment is by CTMH.  The stamp set is "Happy Birthday" and is no longer available.  Everything is edged with TH Vintage Photo, of course!  More scrap cards to follow.  :)

Scrap Card #1

Here's Scrap Card #1:

I love this new A la Mode stamp set by MFT.  She is just the cutest, plus I am addicted to my iPhone so it was a perfect fit.  I colored her up with my Copics.  Here are the colors I used: Skin - E000, E00, E11  Hair - E33, YR24, YR31  Shorts - B24, B26  Sweater - V12, V15, V17.
Love, love , love the MFT Die-namics Sweet Stack.  It's perfect for a layered sentiment.  I sprayed the gray circle with LSG Scintillating Silver Glitz Spritz.  I used the MFT Die-namics Pretty Posies to cut the flower out of felt and glued a Prima flower in the center.  The silver bling is from Close to My Heart.  Paper is just random scraps!  I couldn't put too much dimension on the card, because it will be going through International Mail and I want it to stay intact.

Hope you enjoy.........more scrap cards to follow. :)

Scraps Day!!

I am quickly running out of room in my scrap studio, so I have decided to not allow myself to touch any of my paper packs until I have used up some of my scraps.  I love paper, I mean seriously love paper.  I think I have a problem! :)  I have officially ran out of room.

Paper Packs
Paper towers are completely full also.
The drawers are overflowing and the lids barely shut anymore.
This doesn't include all of my Recollections 12x12 clear envelopes that hold my hoarding stash!  In order to use up some of my paper supply, I am going to force myself to use scraps to make cards.  I am forbidden from opening a new pack of paper.

Altered Canvases

I got these white canvases from Michaels a few weeks ago.  They were really cheap, like $2.00 a piece.  I painted them and then used my LSG Starburst Stains to glam them up a bit.  The first canvas is for my classroom.  I don't have anything to hang on my wreath hanger for May, so I thought I would create something.

I painted the canvas with Calypso Blue paint by FolkArt and then sprayed it with LSG Dark Chocolate Truffle.  The paper collection is Stella Rose - Gertie by My Mind's Eye, my current favorite!  I got the bingo card at a flea market a few weeks back with my brother.  I got a bundle of them for $5.00.  I love how big they are.  The floral spray is from a clearance bin at JoAnn's.  The large red flower and burlap leaves are by Prima and the other flowers are from I Am Roses.

I created a second canvas for my Mom.  She has lots of blue and white birdcages in her office, so I used that as my inspiration.  The Tradewinds matstack by DCWV was a perfect match.

I painted the canvas with linen paint and then sprayed it with LSG Dark Chocolate Truffle.  The flowers are from I Am Roses and Prima.  I used my Martha Stewart Oak Leaf punch to fill in around the flower cluster.

The bird feather is by K&Company.  I love how it turned out.  I can't wait to give it to my Mom!

Father's Day Altered Box

I bought this box at Hobby Lobby for $1.97 on clearance.

I altered the box to hold a Father's Day present for my Dad.

I painted the box with a taupe color and then used a crackle medium and finished it with dark chocolate brown paint.  I love the way it turned out.  It looks like a vintage suitcase.  My Dad loves boxes and anything vintage, so this should be a hit!  I decoupaged some paper and embellishments from the BoBunny Timepiece collection on the top.  The scrabble tiles I got off of Etsy and stained them up with my TH Walnut Stain.  The skeleton leaves are from I Am Roses and the bling is by Recollections.  The black beading around the inlay  area is from Hobby Lobby.  I got a 25 yard roll yesterday for $1.50.  They aren't flat-back pearls, but do the same job and are a lot cheaper too.  My brother is going to mail me all kinds of goodies from Korea and we are going to fill it with Father's Day gifts.  I left the sides alone, because I really wanted the crackle to show.  I just love how cute it is.  And I managed to create another masculine project, these are so hard for me!! :)

Masculine Gift

My brother moved to Korea last Monday and I wanted to make him something.  I had a hard time thinking of masculine gifts that didn't include flowers, trim, or glitter.  Not including any of these is a very difficult for me.  Haha. :)  I also had to keep size in mind, as all he could take with him had to fit into 2 suitcases and a carry-on.  So, I decided to create him a travel log or a mini book that he can put his thoughts and memories in.

The front and back covers of the book are heavy-weight chipboard that I painted black.  I covered the front and back cover with papers from the DCWV Tattered Time collection.  The pages inside are Gina K Luxury cardstock and are very heavy, so they should be quite durable.  I bound the mini-book with my Bind-It-All and attached a key for a masculine touch.

Mother's Day Cards

Here are the cards that I created for my mom, my mother-in-law, and my grandma for Mother's Day.

Card for Mother-in-Law

I used Pink Paislee's Butterfly Garden collection along with some Prima flowers and some cherry blossoms from I Am Roses.

Card for my sweet Mom

I also used Pink Paislee's Butterfly Garden collection for this card.  I cut the dress form with the Sewing Room die by Tim Holtz and the doily was cut using the Dainty Doily Die by My Favorite Things.  The crocheted lace is by Prima, as well as the canvas leaves.  The flowers and bling are from the Recollection collection.  The large vintage rose is from I Am Roses.
Card for my Grandma

I created this card using the Madeline collection by Prima.  The teal floral sprig is also by Prima.  The bird cage is from the Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden ephemera pack and the bird is by Recollections.  I purchased the brown lace from Frog Feathers on Etsy.

Crafty Sunday

What do you do when it rains?  You spend the afternoon doing crafty things, of course!  I created 2 cards today.  The first is for my brother who is moving to Korea.  I printed out a map of Seoul, Korea to use on the cover of the card.  I colored up Cafe Ian from The Greeting Farm because my brother loves coffee.  I used Gina  K's Pure Luxury card stock for the first time and I had trouble getting my Copics to blend.  I don't like the way the image turned out, but decided to use it anyway.  I do love the new DCWV "Tattered Time" DP.  It's perfect for masculine cards......very vintage and grungy!

The second card I created I used Graphic 45 "Once Upon a Springtime" collection.  I created the flower using coffee filters and canvas which I stained with my LSG Starburst sprays.  I got the idea for the coffee filter flower from YouTube, MFT: 3D Pretty Posey Tutorial.  The flowers reminds me of a lily pad, which is where you might find a fairy or two....so cute! :)
