Addicted 2 Scrapping Valentine's Blog Hop

Now on to my project...I created some quick and simple cards using some adorable products from K & Company.  I used the Kelly Panacci Valentine collection, super cute papers and adorable embellishments to match! 

Here's my 1st card...

I sprayed the pink heart DP with Cotton Candy Pink Starburst Spray by LSG. The 3D embellishment is from the Valentine collection and the layered heart was created using Layered Heart Die-Namic by MFT. I thread some May Arts white burlap string through the holes. I also added a white seam binding bow and some gorgeous I Am Roses flowers.

I kept the inside super simple.

I used the Hearts a Plenty Die-Namic by MFT to create the layered hearts and used the PI You're So Tweet stamp set by MFT to stamp the sentiment. I used my "bubblegum" ink pad by CTMH.

And here's my second card...

I used another 3D embellishment from the collection. I created the scallop border by using Simply Scallops Die-Namic by MFT. I tied some seam binding in a bow and used some of Jodi's Red Line Sticky Tape to adhere it to the scallop border. I used another Pale Pink Cherry Blossom from I Am Roses.....so sweet! :)

The sentiment is from the PI Berry Sweet stamp set by MFT. I used the Hearts a Plenty Die-Namic again to create that adorable heart.

Here's my final card...

I added an adorable snow globe sticker from the collection to a tag that I cut out using the Tag You're It Die-Namic by MFT. I tied a double bow using some more May Arts white burlap string. I added a row of Small Pink 2-Tone Flowers from I Am Roses.

Again, I did the same thing on the inside.

Addicted to Scrapping New Year's Eve Blog Hop

Hi everyone!  The Addicted to Scrapping Design Team is hosting a New Year's Eve blog hop.  We hope our projects will inspire you to start the new year off in a creative way.  

I created a set of snowman nesting boxes.

The boxes started out like this...

I picked mine up at Blue Moon Scrapbooking.  I then painted them with white acrylic paint and sprayed them with LSG Creme Brulee Cream Starburst Spray.

I created the snowman's hat first.

I used some blue ruffle trim from the Webster's Pages Trendsetter Collection and some black beads that I had in my stash.  The paper roses were created using the Rolled Rose Die-Namics by MFT.  I used black cardstock that I sprayed with LSG Scintillating Silver Glitz Spritz.  I show you exactly how I put my hat together in the video I created (the link is listed below).

I then painted the snowman's face using the end of a paintbrush to create the dots.

My snowman has a very classy scarf. ;)  I used some black scallop lace that I had in my stash. I used black felt by MFT and the Simply Scallops Border Die-Namic by MFT to create the scarf band around the middle box.  The "brooch" was created with some of the Webster's Pages trim and a black rhinestone Flower Center by Prima.

I used the Large Rolled Rose Die-Namic by MFT to create the buttons for my snowman.  I hot-glued a black bead from the trim I used on the hat as the center of my buttons.

Burlap Christmas Banner Tutorial

Hello everyone, I'm here today with my very first project as part of the Addicted 2 Scrapping Design Team.  Check out our Facebook page HERE, so you can keep up with all of the DT's latest projects.

Our theme this month was Christmas, so I decided to create a banner to hang from my mantel.  

I am going to walk you through step-by-step what I did to create my project.  You will need about a 1/2 yd of burlap, a ruler, a marker, and a pair of fabric scissors.

I cut out 19 rectangles (to spell MERRY CHRISTMAS) measuring 5" wide and 6.5" long.  I marked the spots with a marker and then just cut them out.  I wasn't worried about being too exact.

Next, I folded the burlap in half (hot dog fold = lengthwise) and measured 2" up from the bottom and made a mark.

I then cut on a diagonal from the bottom left corner to the mark 2" up on the fold.  I ♥ this trick, an oldie my Mom taught me! :)

When you unfold it, it should look like this...

You now have the foundation for your banner.  Next up is the letters.  You can choose to do this so many different ways.  I am going to share 2 with you today.  If you own a Cricut, you can cut out letters and use the negative as a stencil.  I used the "Storybook" cartridge.

Cut out your letters using your Cricut.  I made mine 4" tall.  I wanted them big enough to see, but not hanging over the banner.

After I cut out the letters, I used the negative part of the paper that was left over as a stencil.  I would suggest taping this down, to ensure your stencil stays in place.

I used black acrylic paint.  Here's how mine turned out...

The second option for letters is to cut them out of black cardstock with your Cricut and use glossy accents to adhere them to your banner...I chose this option.

I wanted to add a bit of shimmer to my banner pieces, so I sprayed them up with my Golden Sleigh Bells Starburst Spray by Lindy's Stamp Gang....♥ this stuff for Christmas!!!

I use an old box to spray in, so I can keep my work space clean.  After I sprayed the pieces, I used my heat tool to dry them.  This also helps to keep the burlap pieces from curling up.

When you have them all adhered, it should look something like this...

I used some bias binding to hold the banner together.  This is actually from my Grandma, it's circa 1950.  Love that vintage touch! :)

Just a bit of hot glue and the project is complete!
