"Spring" Altered Canvas

Hi everyone! I have another project to share with you today for Karlas001. I created a spring altered canvas.  I used a bunch of goodies from Karlas001 and a perfectly springy paper collection by Colorbok, Antique Paperie.

Here's how it turned out...

I created this banner by fussy-cutting some banners out of one of the 12 x 12 papers.

This flower cluster features some of Karlas001's Yellow/Orange Wheat Leaves and some
Jo's Clear Shabby Crystals.  I ♥ how they add something special to accent your projects!

I also used some 4mm Bronze Pearl Trim and some of the gorgeous Vintage White Lace from Karlas001.

Other products used not listed above:
"Spa Blue" acrylic paint by Americana
LSG "Gossamer Gold" Moon Shadow Mist
LSG "Desert Moon Cactus Gold" Glitz Spritz
LSG "Creme Brulee Cream" Starburst Spray
Brown Black Cherry Blossoms by I Am Roses (S3 - 578)
Big White Gardenia by I Am Roses (Special 2)
Ivory 2" Roses by I Am Roses (R40)

Check out a detailed video of my canvas HERE.  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! HUGS

"You Mean the World to Me" Altered Canvas

Happy Wednesday!  I'm back again with a project for I Am Roses.  I created an altered mini-canvas to showcase one of my favorite pics of my hubby and I.  We went to Chicago in July and toured the Willis Tower (old Sear's tower) at night.  The skyline was beautiful all lit up and I wanted to create something to remember that special evening.

Here's a peek at the finished canvas...

I started out with a 5x5 stretched canvas that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.  I painted it using my LSG Dark Chocolate Truffle Starburst Shot.  I then layered on some of my all-time favorite paper by Crate Paper from the Portrait Collection.  I centered the picture and then began layering my embellishments around the photo.

I, of course, had to include some gorgeous products from I Am Roses....would a project be complete without some IAR goodies?  I think not.  Hehe :)

I used my LSG Desert Moon Cactus Gold Glitz Spritz to add a bit of sparkle to this beautiful Paper Flower Spray and Small Ivory Gardenia.

The Brown Cherry Blossoms are another one of my all-time favorite flowers from IAR.  They look perfect on every project.  I also used some of those adorable Small White Crocheted Flowers, love those!!!

Here is a list of the other products used in this project:
You Mean to World To Me stamp set by MFT
TH Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Shabby Chic Treasures Bird Cage by Prima
Linen Acrylic Paint
Antique Linen Distress Crackle Paint by Ranger
Cardboard
Brown lace from my stash
Burlap string
Typewriter Alphabet stamps by MFT

I created a tutorial showing you this canvas from start to finish.  Click HERE to watch.  Hope you enjoyed today's project and don't forget to checkout I Am Roses.  Have a whimsical Wednesday! :)

Whimsy Whoo

I have cards and home dec altered items now for sale at Whimsy Whoo in Springdale.

1350 S. Gutensohn Rd.
Springdale, AR  72762
(479) 361-8845

Stop by and check them out, they are such a super cute store!! :) I have been busy all weekend creating some fun items that will be for sale at Whimsy Whoo later this week.  I am in a bit of a "girly" mood, so everything is feminine and filly...lol!

The first thing I created was this altered canvas, perfect for a girly photo....and the awesome thing is you can change the photo whenever you want.  I didn't adhere some of the items all the way down, so you can just slip a photo in.

I slipped a photo in to show you.
Yes, that's a pic of me! :)

I also created several cards.
A little Madonna-esque.....perfect for any age!

I love the soft pink and green together.  Color combination was a mistake, but it turned out so cute.

I just love this little bicycle stamp.  It's so sweet.

Almost too cute...I love the bird in the background.  This paper collection has such beautiful prints and colors!  Love it.

I created this card using this week's MFT sketch challenge.  Another cool, artsy paper collection.  I love the glittered butterflies.

All of these items will be for sale at Whimsy Whoo later this week.  Hope everyone is having a whimsical Sunday! :)

With Love & Whimsy,
Andrea

Dress Form Canvas

I created this canvas as a gift for someone.  It started out as just an 8 x 10 stretched natural canvas, like this one.  Nothing great and really kinda boring, but not after I got my hands on it! :)

I painted it with Folk Art Metallic Sahara Gold acrylic paint and then glued on a piece of flocked damask designer paper by GCD Studios from the Paris Nights Collection.

I then began layering a bunch of goodies onto the canvas.  The dress forms are Wooden Flourishes: Manequins by KaiserCraft and the Say it in Crystals black corner bling is by Prima.  I hot glued down some black sequin lace and then layered a bunch of flowers from I Am Roses.

Here is a list of the different flowers that I used: G3-153, R77-310, R21-410, T25-152, R2-505, and R2-840.  I used the following Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays to color the flowers: Opal Sea Oats Starburst Stain, Golden Sleigh Bells Starburst Color Shot, and Desert Moon Cactus Gold Glitz Spritz.

I curled the edge of the damask designer paper back with my paint brush and then edged it with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  I used the Ornamental Movers & Shapers Die by Tim Holtz to cut out the black frame and then glued on the quote by Helen Keller.

Altered Canvases

I got these white canvases from Michaels a few weeks ago.  They were really cheap, like $2.00 a piece.  I painted them and then used my LSG Starburst Stains to glam them up a bit.  The first canvas is for my classroom.  I don't have anything to hang on my wreath hanger for May, so I thought I would create something.

I painted the canvas with Calypso Blue paint by FolkArt and then sprayed it with LSG Dark Chocolate Truffle.  The paper collection is Stella Rose - Gertie by My Mind's Eye, my current favorite!  I got the bingo card at a flea market a few weeks back with my brother.  I got a bundle of them for $5.00.  I love how big they are.  The floral spray is from a clearance bin at JoAnn's.  The large red flower and burlap leaves are by Prima and the other flowers are from I Am Roses.

I created a second canvas for my Mom.  She has lots of blue and white birdcages in her office, so I used that as my inspiration.  The Tradewinds matstack by DCWV was a perfect match.

I painted the canvas with linen paint and then sprayed it with LSG Dark Chocolate Truffle.  The flowers are from I Am Roses and Prima.  I used my Martha Stewart Oak Leaf punch to fill in around the flower cluster.

The bird feather is by K&Company.  I love how it turned out.  I can't wait to give it to my Mom!
